NFHA Summons Mr Jackson Bent to IGP Office Over Constitutional Breaches
The National Freight Haulers Association of Nigeria (NFHA) wishes to formally inform its members, stakeholders, and the general public that it has summoned, Mr. Jackson Bent, to appear before the Inspector General of Police (IGP) at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, on Tuesday, 25th March 2025 at 11:00 AM.
This summons follows multiple violations of the NFHA Constitution and bye-laws, which have raised serious concerns about leadership accountability and governance within the Association.
Specifically, Mr. Bent has:
- Overstayed his constitutional tenure and seeks to occupy the seat of President despite internal calls to step down.
- Seeks to assume dual leadership roles as both President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), which is clearly prohibited by NFHA’s constitution.
The Association has exhausted all internal resolution mechanisms. As a result, the involvement of the Nigeria Police Force became necessary to ensure the enforcement of its constitutional framework and to safeguard the integrity of its leadership structure.
NFHA remains committed to transparency, rule of law, and the democratic principles upon which it was founded. We urge all members and stakeholders to remain calm and united as this matter is addressed through the proper legal and constitutional channels.
Further updates will be shared in due course.
Signed,
NFHA National Executive Committee
