Leadership Response Statement by Mr. Jackson Bent – March 25, 2025
In response to recent controversies surrounding his leadership within the National Freight Haulers Association of Nigeria (NFHA), the current President, Mr. Jackson Bent, has released an official statement.
According to Mr. Bent, he was duly appointed — not elected — and remains confident in the legality and legitimacy of his position. He stated that he has been at the forefront of the Association since its inception, and that under his guidance, the NFHA Constitution was established.
“I was appointed to lead when no one else came forward. The constitution now being used as a tool against me was formed under my leadership,” he declared.
Mr. Bent further alleged that the efforts to discredit him are being orchestrated by some conniving members, who he accuses of attempting to seize control by organizing an internal revolt.
He added that as a Retired General in the Nigerian Army, he will take all necessary legal steps to defend his name, protect the NFHA, and confront what he described as “coordinated acts of defamation and sabotage.”
“I will not be intimidated. I will defend my name through legal and constitutional means.”
The matter is still unfolding, and the NFHA is expected to provide further updates in the days to come.
